AI Models & Settings
Choose from hundreds of AI models and configure generation settings.
Koubou gives you access to hundreds of AI models through OpenRouter, plus local models via Ollama. You choose which model to use for each task.

The Models Tray
Click the Models button in the left navigation to open the Models tray.
Tabs

Selecting a Model
- Browse or search for models
- Click a model to set it as active
- The active model is used for all AI generation
Model Information
Each model shows:
- Model name and provider
- Context window size
- Pricing (input/output per token)
- Creation date
Filtering and Sorting
Filters:
- Provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
- Free models toggle
- Search by name
Sort options:
- Newest first
- Name
- Provider
- Context window size
- Price
Favorite Models
Click the heart icon to favorite a model. Access favorites quickly from the Favorites tab.

AI Settings
Default parameters for generation:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Temperature | Randomness (0 = focused, 1 = creative) |
| Top P | Nucleus sampling threshold |
| Max Tokens | Maximum output length |
| Frequency Penalty | Reduces repetition |
| Presence Penalty | Encourages topic diversity |
| Repetition Penalty | Another repetition control |
These defaults apply unless overridden in specific workflow nodes.
Local Models (Ollama)
If you run Ollama locally:
- Configure the Ollama URL in account settings
- Local models appear in the Local tab
- Select local models just like cloud models
- No token costs for local generation

Tips
- Favorite your go-to models for quick access
- Try free models to experiment without cost
- Match model capabilities to your task (some excel at code, others at creative writing)
- Adjust temperature based on whether you want consistent or varied output
