Getting Started

Set up your Koubou account and start creating.

Welcome to Koubou, your Human+AI-powered content workbench. This guide walks you through the initial setup.

Sign In with Google

Koubou uses Google authentication for secure, password-free access.

  1. Click Log in on the homepage
  2. Click Continue With Google
  3. Choose your Google account
  4. Grant the requested permissions

That’s it; no passwords to remember or reset.

Connect OpenRouter

Koubou uses OpenRouter to give you access to hundreds of AI models (including the state-of-the-art models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and more). You bring your own API key, which means:

  • No markup — Pay OpenRouter directly at market rates
  • No limits from Koubou — Use as much AI as you need
  • Complete privacy — Your content never touches our servers

How to connect

  1. After signing in, you’ll see the OpenRouter connection screen
  2. Click Connect OpenRouter Account
  3. Authorize Koubou on the OpenRouter website
  4. You’ll be redirected back automatically

Tip: OpenRouter offers some free models if you want to try things out without spending credits (in the your OpenRouter account).

Purchase/Activate Your License

Enter your license key to unlock Koubou:

  1. Enter your key (format: KB-YEARLY-...)
  2. Check the box to agree to terms
  3. Click Confirm & Activate

Your license is permanently bound to your account after activation.

Note: There is also a link to purchase a license if you do not have one yet at this step.

Your First Time in the Workbench

After setup, you’ll land in the workbench; your main workspace.

First you will see a Create your First Project button. After you create your first project (and your first folder) here’s what you’ll see:

  • Left pane — Your projects, files and folders
  • Center pane — The document you’re working in
  • Right pane — Tools (prompts, smart prompts, workflows, etc.)
